Many U.S. faith-based organizations have leaders that have have been called to focus on a specific area, target population, or mission. At times, these organizations also have a desire to partner with the the community in offering services that enable the community or local/state government in filling a gap while fulfilling their faith guiding principles. In order to do so, faith organizations must:

  • Organize in a way that allows them to partner with the public (if/when desired),
  • Decide whether or not to seek grants and other public and/or private funding sources if desiring to receive assistance underwriting  organizational endeavors
  • Conduct community research to determine whether their is a need for the desired focus/mission, and
  • Develop polices and procedures for day to day operations

Get Grant Ready (GGR) can assist faith organizations in developing strategic plans which will enable them to successfully deploy and roll-out comprehensive services, programs, and projects demonstrating integrity, ethics, and social responsibility. GGR also works to ensure the organization maintains its true focus and mission.

GGR is offering several workshops to assist organizations interested in conducting activities for public benefit.  GGR can also train your organization on how to find and secure funding to maintain programs and initiatives.

        * Disclaimer: Organizations must be honest and forthcoming in regards to reasons you seek to align your specific faith institution for the purposes of seeking public and private funding. If the only purpose for completing this process is to seek funding for the benefit of the faith institution (i.e. supplementing overhead costs, to help purchase items for needed/desired for faith institution's use, supplement existing salaries of staff for existing faith activities NOT for public benefit, etc.), then these workshops are not for you. Workshops are for faith-based organizations interested in making a difference in their communities, and separating these new activities from existing day-to-day activities and operations that are faith-related, private, and not for public benefit. Faith-Based Emergency Preparedness

Picture

Churches, synagogues, faith-based schools and other faith-based institutions are often staples in their communities, yet are often unprepared to address real human needs in the event of natural or man-made catastrophes such as floods, mass shootings, fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, and/or bombings.  Empty life centers, sanctuaries, school facilities, buses are excellent untapped resources your community could utilize in the event of an emergency. Get Grant Ready's Emergency Preparedness Planning Workshop includes:

  • Natural Disaster Planning
  • Acts of Terrorism
  • Man Made Disaster Planning
  • Local/Community Disaster Planning

GGR can work with your organization to help develop risk management policies and procedures, leadership safety plans, facility safety planning & management, volunteer training/readiness, financial essentials, training handbook and manual development, spiritual & grief counseling and supports. For more information, or to schedule a training for your organization, please contact Rev. Kori London - Program Director of Faith-Based Services and Initiatives at (864) 378-8042 (mobile) or via email at grantready@outlook.com.
